This is OK as long as we have last night supper's left over, but this morning, we haven't got any. We eat Japanese style sticky rice which need more time to cook, so cooking rice was not my choice.

Then I decided to make these steamed bread. Recipe is here, but it is in Japanese so here is some translation, just in case somebody in interested in making these.

You need for 8 buns

Plain flour 150g
Baking Powder 2tsp
(Alternatively, you can use self-raising flour, of course)
Sugar 50g
◎eggs 2
◎Yoghurt 100g
◎Vegetable oil 1tbsp
◎Vanilla extract 3 to 5 drops if you have

Put plain flour, baking powder, sugar into the bowl and just mix them well.

Add eggs, Yoghurt, Vegetable oil, Vanilla extract into the flour bowl and mix them.

Pour the mixture into the cup. I used paper muffin cup and put it into small ramekins as the bun will swell big and paper cup is not good enough to hold it in shape. Put them into the steamer and steam them for 10 minuets.

I let her do almost everything except put them in/ take them out from the steamer. The best part was it took just 20 minuets and we had fun!

Hi there-

When you put these in the steamer, do the ramekins need to be covered? or not?

Thanks! looking forward to trying the recipe.
