The Bedtime reading time, again

Ever since I noticed I was pregnant Little Miss Chatty, I’ve been reading her books almost everyday. Yes, I read her when she was in my tummy. When she started her school, they became a part of her homework, though. After she went up the reading level to the free reader, I kind of stopped reading the books together with her partly because she can read, of course, but also I was working at that time and I was exhausted for bedtime reading and I tried to avoided it, a sort of. After I quit working, I realized that she was into English/Japanese Multilingual Manga, reading only English. Manga is OK but at the same time, her form teacher told me that LMC needs to increase her vocabulary, and I thought that Manga is not good enough, especially, those were originally Japanese translated into English, and for Japanese grown-ups who want to study English, the expressions or words are rather easy. Also, I imagine that in the course of translation, there must be native speaker to proof it, but sometimes, something got lost in translation.

So I decided to return to the old habit. At bedtime, I started to read with her again.

Journey to the River Sea:
Eva Ibbotson

This is the book we read recently. We had read a lot about Charles Darwin before this book, the story about a girl who happened to live with her relatives in the forest of Brazil and she meets the son of a naturalist is really inspire our imagination. I don't know how LMC think, but I look forward to the bedtime story time these days. I bought several books I thought the story seems to be interesting, so that I think I can enjoy reading books for a while, again.
